mwololo-backup

A personal backup utility. It copies the operator's own files from their own computer to their own Google Drive account. Nothing else.

What it does

Who uses it

One person: the operator, who is also the developer. There is no sign-up, no public service and no third-party users. The tool is not offered to the public and creates no accounts.

How it reaches Google

mwololo-backup authorizes against a single Google account — the operator's own — with a single OAuth scope, https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive. That scope is what Google requires to create, read and delete files in Drive. Within the account, the tool only reads back and cleans up the files it created itself, in the folder it manages. It requests no other Google service: no Gmail, no Calendar, no Contacts, no profile data.
